OOTD + Blog :: In Their Shoes

Hello! Today isn't much of a "fashionable" outfit of the day, but a notable one for me! Today was the first day I got to put on some scrubs and sit in a full day of surgeries bouncing from OR to OR ^____^ (and the occasional epidermal shot - boy, those needles are long and scary!)! It was really fun and educational at the same time. I was lucky to find that my little cousin's best friend's father is an anesthesiologist (long relationship!) at a local hospital and was kind enough to let me follow him around for the day.

Had to sneak in a little shot whilst on lunch break when no one was around... Super excited to be in scrubs but super embarrassed to be taking pictures of myself in a professional public area!

It was a really eye opening experience! I get to go back again on Friday... super pumped!

Thanks for reading!

Review :: The Body Shop Blueberry Body Butter

Hi Everyone!

So I wanted to do a quick review on the Body Shop's Blueberry Body Butter before they disappear! The Body Shop is infamous for their Body Butter Tubs and they come out with sooo many different "flavours". The Sales Associate told me that the Blueberry was discontinued in Canada awhile back and was also very popular back in the day. They just recently had extra stock in the UK and decided to bring them back for a limited time in Canada and for 1/2 price ($10)!

The fragrance is absolutely amazing. It does smell like blueberry, but the scent is light and fresh. I don't normally go bananas over skincare or body creams but it smelled that good that I even bought a back up! A bigger plus is that they are extremely moisturizing!! The formula is the most moisturizing out of all the body butters I've tried at the Body Shop, but I wouldn't expect less from it since it is formulated especially for dry skin. I have extremely dry skin (to the point my legs are always flakey >___<) but this body butter really helped and my legs haven't flaked since I started wearing it! I wanted to wait before I do a review so then I had a better idea of how I like it; I've had this for about 3 weeks now and have been using it daily! I'm the type of person who doesn't like putting cream on but I think the quality and the scent of this body butter really encouraged me to do so.

I don't really know how else to describe moisturizers other than the fact that, this is a really really really good moisturizer...

The only thing I don't like about this moisturizer is that its in a tub. I find it a little unsanitary when its not in a squeeze tube but it's not a deal-breaker for me. The only thing I wouldn't do is share this body butter with others; but I wouldn't mind sharing if it was in a squeeze tube.

I'm going to be extremely disappointed when they disappear... TT^TT

I def recommend purchasing this, so hurry in store before they disappear!

What's in My Purse?

It's believed that a woman's bag sheds light in her personality and life. Let's take a little peek into mine!

Photobucket
Marc by Marc Jacob Dr. Q Mini Hillier bag sure carries a lot!

I know I carry way too much in my purse, but I always hope to be prepared for something than to be under prepared (which reminds me... what happened to my mini umbrella!?). There is usually a reason something is in my purse... most often times its just sitting in there making me work out my arms ~~ hahahaha! Anyways, here's a grand list of what's in my purse according to the above photo and the reason why...@_______@''

  1. iPhone 4 - For talking to my friends, gps, internet, music; I'm not one of those individuals who would be in trouble if I lost my phone, although I'm quite dependent on it, but I feel that it's essential (especially for girls) to carry a cell phone in case of an emergency events
  2. Patent leather hot pink Coach wallet - To hold all my money, id, discount cards, coupons, bubble tea cards ^-^
  3. Anna Sui large mirror - So I can look at myself. LOL. XD
  4. Bath & Body Works antibacterial gel - I'm a huge germaphobe.
  5. Puma pouch - I think its unattractive for girls to chuck their girly things in their purse without anything in case you have a little intruder >W<'' but also its very convenient and not embarrassing to hand over to a friend if they were ever to need a little girly help! Also its more convenient sometimes when you are going to washroom to just carry this and have a poor little guy friend hold you purse so the washroom germs don't get on your purse! ^3^
  6. Purse holder - Sometimes its unsafe for your purse to be left on a back of a chair, or there is simply no place to put your purse in a restaurant - Also much more sanitary! ^___^
  7. Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter - I always find my skin is very dry... moisturize moisturize!
  8. La Mer Hand Treatment - I have eczema on my hands so I need something a little more bam to make my hands better #____#
  9. Staedtler Triplus Mobile Office - Super handy! It has a pencil, ballpoint blue pen, black felt tip pen, and a highlighter. Just in case you ever need to write something down! *O*
  10. Avene Hydrance Optimale spf 25 Hydrating Cream for Sensitive Skin - Sun protection is very important! (Though I'm usually too lazy to put it on) >A<''
  11. Coach patent coin purse - For my coins and subway tokens ~_~
  12. samy mini hairspray - My version of pepper spray! since in some countries pepper spray or mace is illegal, hairspray is not! Like I said before, it's important for girls who find themselves walking home late at night after classes or work to protect themselves. Also doubles up in aid if you find yourself in a hair crisis! ^w^
  13. Hair tie - Cause my long hair sometimes gets annoying XD
  14. Camera case + camera - I am a total shutter bug. Pictures of everything! food. people. places. cute things. silly things. the works. I am a keen believer that there is no such thing as too much pictures.
  15. Puffs tissues - Just in case :P
  16. Forever 21 sunglasses - Sun protection for your eyes! plus they are stylish ^-^
  17. TNA makeup case - A girl's magic bag; Usually over flowing with various lip products
  18. Keys - Other than the obvious... Again with safety, I also have an energizer safety fob on it. if I feel I'm in danger its sometimes easier to pull the tab off and have the key chain emit a siren noise than to scream for help. Or you can do both ^-^. It also doubles up as a flashlight! my cupcake key fob is from Coach. (Anyone noticed my awesome blingy heart key? Love it! My dad bought it for me and my mum ^-^)
  19. iPhone headphones - Gotta get my groove onn!
So, after reading my list you probably can tell what my priorities are: safety, sanitation, health, and convenience

Here's a close up of my keys so you can see how the Energizer safety fob looks like if you ever wish to purchase your own.

Safety first!

So I hope you enjoyed my What's in My Purse and that I gave you some tips on how to protect yourself with a few multifunctional items in your purse!

With love,

Today, I went to the Shiseido/NARS Warehouse with Helen. I haven't been to the Shiseido Warehouse for two years and much has changed! The warehouse has opened up a larger section for items and there is a larger selection of NARS products available. From what I remember before, there was rarely any NARS products before and now there is a huge corner of them! I was so excited!

Haul :: Lisa's Cosmetics Warehouse

Once every season, a Lisa's Cosmetics opens up and allows the public to browse and purchase items. Lisa's Cosmetics typically carries large selection of perfume and colognes and ranges from low end brands such has Adidas to designer brands such as Gucci, Burberry, etc. Fragrances are discounted and range from $10+. Aside from fragrance, Lisa's Cosmetics also carries shower soap, hair care products, nail polish + nail care, chocolate, hair dye, no-name bags, and designer sunglasses. For more information regarding Lisa's Cosmetics please follow the link to their site.

I visited the warehouse last weekend and bought quite a bit of items. Lines are typically quite long, however since I live in such close proximity I usually can just walk in the last 10-25 minutes.

This time I bought the following items (from top left and clockwise):
1. Vera Wang Limited Edition Flower Princess 100mL - $55
2. Escada Limited Edition Pacific Paradise 100mL - $55
3. Osis+ Flatliner Form - $7.99
4. Aveeno Positively Smooth
5. Dove Volume Therapy Shampoo + Conditioner
6. Schwarzkopf Essencity Restoring Shampoo - $7.99
7. Smashbox Limited Edition Masquerade Baked Fusion Lights
8. Smashbox Lip & Cheek Tint

I apologize I do not remember all the price since some of the items my mum helped pick out for me and the price tags are usually placed on the items (except for fragrances). I would guess the Aveeno would most likely cost $5 and the Dove would cost $4 each. Both Smashbox products I believe were around $8.

I haven't tried all these products yet, however I have tried both fragrances, the Aveeno cream, and the "cleaning" hair products.

Vera Wang Flower Princess - As the name suggests, this perfume is floral, but it isn't overly flowery - the scent is similar to Marc Jacobs Daisy in terms of the scent's strength. Although there are some floral notes, this fragrance is very 'fresh' smelling.

Escada Pacific Paradise - Very typical of Escada's limited edition fragrances. If you like their other perfumes, you will like this one. Very fruity smelling - easy to wear.

Aveeno Positively Smooth - I only used this once, but it just seems like any other Aveeno cream, nothing seems different although this cream does promises to thin hair so then you don't have to shave as often.

Shampoos - Typical. Nothing amazing. Both shampoos were more of a clear watery gel opposed to a cream. I didn't really care for how the Schwarzkopf Essensity Shampoo's scent. However, I purchased these hair products cause my hair was drying out and required some restoration.

Hope this was a quick run down of some of the products and that it helped slightly in terms of my first impressions of these products.
