Blog :: Toronto's First Macaron Day!

Hi Everyone,

If you live in Toronto, you may have heard the buzz surrounding the first official Macaron Day! You can find more information at the official website {here}. Basically, you can walk into any of the participating macaron stores and ask for a free macaron and whatever additional macarons you purchase, 25% of the cost will go towards a local charity {this year is Red Door Family Shelter}!

Unfortunately, I was super busy with school and personal stuff so I was only able to visit one macaron store called MoRoCo. I was fortunate enough to snag one of the last free macarons as there were a limited quantity being given out!

I've been to MoRoCo before for their afternoon high-tea and I would highly recommend this restaurant cafe for small get togethers with friends or a fun date. Other than their macarons, they are also known for their chocolate creations!

My purchased macarons :: marshmallow, caramel apple, pistachio,
chocolate cherry, raspberry, and salted caramel.
My free macaron :: red velvet!!!!

I also heard that Macaron Day was being celebrated in NYC and Paris, though I'm not 100% sure if it is being celebrated in any other major city. If not, perhaps you can start one in your city, as it is a great cause and a great excuse to eat macarons :p!

Hope you enjoyed my quick blog post!

With love,

  1. What is fashion without a little humor? Well if you ask Anna Wintour, I’m sure the answer would be… “fashion.” However, that is certainly not how I look at it. I love the axis of which the world of fashion rotates.
